  • King of the Rabid : So if you've got nothing to do this holiday weekend (you know, hang with family, blow stuff up, throw back a beer or two (or twenty if you're drinking Bud Light *shudder*) then try out the new mod that's dropped today: Neo Tokyo. Described as “futuristic shooting action” so... it may be good? I honestly didn't hear about this mod until it dropped on the steam update page, but if Valve likes it it must be good.
  • King of the Rabid : So when is the meeting going to be?
  • King of the Rabid : Well when two people show up, yeah. I hadn't noticed you logging off though, too much fun shooting zombies in Brainbread.
  • Troy : Yeah, really late notice... meeting cancelled
  • King of the Rabid : Is there? I thought one was coming up but I had no idea as to when.
  • Troy : Meeting tonight on vent?
  • [WCK]Cheese : anyone wanna randomly buy me something off of woot? =D <3
  • [WCK]Cheese : 4 days till my bday!!!!
  • King of the Rabid : Another recommendation, 8 Bit Killer. Quite the fun little first person shooter that manages to pack in a lot of nostalgia in about 12 levels or so.
  • King of the Rabid : Well, it be deader than a doornail on this site. Game recommendation: All Our Friends Are Dead. It's the minimalist 8-bit love child of Lovecraft and Contra (one of the easier ones). Surprisingly creepy.
  • King of the Rabid : Smashball has dropped on Steam. It's free, so pick it up and start playing some murderball. Link unrelated: «link»
  • Jonas : Dave?
  • King of the Rabid : Columns! Woot!
  • Deswa : woot off, argh
  • [WCK]Cheese : plugged in the sega genesis today...popped in Columns (you know your badass when you can play that) =p
  • King of the Rabid : Pizza!
  • [WCK]Cheese : interview at ITT tech tommorow =] woot woot go cheese hah
  • [WCK]Cheese : lol =]
  • King of the Rabid : Capcom has dropped their SF4 benchmark tool. If you want to see if your system can handle the latest fighter, download it and find out!
  • King of the Rabid : Correction, d**n you alternator for slowly draining the life out of my battery!
  • King of the Rabid : Damn you truck battery! Why would you let me drive to Kroger's if you had no intention of letting me drive back!?
  • [WCK]Cheese : jsdhfkjsdfhsk why wont it work omg
  • [WCK]Cheese : yay broken phone #2 razz
  • King of the Rabid : Heh, all these free updates really add up if you have to reinstall it.
  • [WCK]Cheese : i just reinstalled it and then...there was a 4hr update soo i paused it and ill finish it later lmao
  • King of the Rabid : And we had about six people, not bad. Not great, but not bad. Maybe we need to expand the steam group.
  • King of the Rabid : TF2 at 8:00PM on the BSG server. Be there or be slightly more popular by interacting with people outside of a virtual environment.
  • King of the Rabid : Huh, interesting. I would expect the illegal variant of the drink to produce such effects but I'm curious to see how the legal version has some of the same properties.
  • [WCK]Cheese : It was just amazing. Although i recommend not drinking them right before bed...cause my dream was out of whack man!
  • King of the Rabid : I've been looking for that stuff everywhere so I could try a can.

Summer 09 Update
Written by Troy Histed
Tuesday, 30 June 2009

It's been a while since we've posted an update so I thought I'd try to fill everyone in on what's going on. But first I'd like to thank everyone that came to the BSG Spring 09 lan party. I know it's a bit late but we hope you had a great time. I'll get some pictures posted sometime this summer, I promise.

We've got some big things planned for this year so get ready to mark your calendars. The tentative dates for our lan parties are:

 Fall 2009 Lan: November  11th, 12th and 13th

 Spring 2010 Lan: April 9th, 10th, and 11th

We're also going to be working with the Leadership Safari crew this August to put on a gaming event for the early arriving freshmen. More info on that in a future update.

Hope your having a great summer and we'll see you in the fall!

The Results Are In!
Written by Chris Fisher
Tuesday, 24 March 2009

Well we had almost 60 responses to the tournament survey, so a big "Thank You" to those who voted!  After analyzing the results we have used them to set up our tournaments list.  It is as follows:

Left 4 Dead 4v4

Team Fortress 2 5v5

Counter-Strike Source Deathmatch

WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne 1v1

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Street Fighter II HD Turbo Remix

Rock Band 2 4v4 Battle of the Bands

Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Halo 3 2v2

So far signups are going slowly - do us a favor and spread the word!  We are giving you exactly the tournaments you asked for, so come on over to Mt. Pleasant and show us what you can do!

UPDATE: I just realized I ommitted Mario Kart on the SNES as a tournament - I've adjusted the list to reflect this.

UPDATE 2: Gah, I also neglected to list Halo 3 (2v2) as a tournament - I've also added this.  Man I suck.

April 2009 LAN Announced!
Written by Chris Fisher
Wednesday, 04 March 2009

It is my pleasure to officially announce that BSG is having a 3-day LAN event in April on the weekend of the 17th through the 19th!  We are trying to make sure that all of our tournaments appeal to all of our gamers by giving you a short survey where you can tell us what you want to play!  We will be collecting your opinions for 2 weeks, after which we will need to stop the survey so we can plan the tournaments and announce them, so make sure you vote by March 18th!

We had a little problem getting our huge venue back, so we will once again be in Kulhavi Hall, which has served us well in the past.  The only problem is that we will be much more limited by space in this venue than we were last fall, so it is important that if you are attending you pre-pay, as we will not be able to accomodate more than the 120 seats we have set aside.

Anyway, vote in the survey, sign up for the LAN, and check back March 18th for the results!  Check out our forums in the meantime!
